Fixed-Term Contracts

Fixed-term contract are permitted in China. They must be for a minimum of two years. It can be renewed once.

Probationary Periods

Probationary periods are permitted in China, but generally must not exceed two months. During the probationary period, Workers must provide three days' written notice to resign. Employers may terminate if the Worker is unfit for the position.

Holidays

Workers in China recognize 7 paid public holidays. Workers are entitled to a premium of 300% if they are required to work on a public holiday.

Vacation

Workers are entitled to paid sick leave and will be paid a portion of their salary depending on their cumulative working time and length of absence. A medical certificate is required.

Overtime

There are no exceptions from overtime. All Workers are entitled to an overtime premium of 150% for exceeding the standard workweek during weekdays. On weekends, the overtime premium is payable at 200%.
