Remote Worker Minimum Wage Verification
When submitting a remote job offer for a remote worker in StaffingNation, it’s important to make sure the pay rate meets the minimum wage requirements for where they will physically be working. Below is the breakdown for how this is verified in StaffingNation to ensure a worker’s pay rate is sufficient!
How It Works
- You Submit the Offer 📩
When creating an offer, enter a pay rate and select a reporting office location and remote work state for where the worker is located.- Pro Tip: Ensuring the worker’s physical worksite location details are correct upfront can help avoid potential delays later!
- Worker Completes Onboarding 🧑💻
As the first step in onboarding, workers will verify their location and enter their remote work/home address where they will be physically working.
- If Pay Rate is Compliant ✅
If the pay rate meets or exceeds the minimum wage for the worker’s location, onboarding continues as normal - no other actions needed! - If a Wage Adjustment Is Needed ⚠️
If the worker’s location has a minimum wage requirement higher than the offered pay rate, onboarding will be paused for review. The offer submitter and worker will receive email notifications. Notifications and available next steps may vary based on your company settings:
- You may have the option to complete updates independently or
- Will work with your Global Account Manager to move forward

What Happens Next 🤝
Your Global Account Manager can support as you move forward with next steps. Depending on your account settings, either you(the offer submitter) or your Global Account Manager can update the engagement details:- If You Choose to Update the Pay Rate
Increase the rate to meet minimum wage requirements and resend the offer to the worker. Example below for updating the rate:

The offer will need to be retracted and communications provided to the worker.

A Few Additional Tips
- Minimum wage is based on the worker’s actual work location, not the reporting location or state selected when creating the offer.
- Sometimes workers enter temporary or invalid addresses during onboarding - these will be reviewed later, if needed, to ensure full compliance with employment laws.
